It was great to see players and parents at the first week of indoor training at Stony Creek.The feedback we have received has been tremendous in regards the variety of training for the players.
Every week the players will experience ball work, team training, plyometrics, fitness and weights for the appropriate age groups. Having the training at one venue allows the Technical Directors to share ideas and vary the sessions to keep the players interested and tested.
During the sessions I handed out information on College Recruitment, but for those who didn't receive the hand outs please find this on our web site under College Recruitment.
PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING BEFORE OPENING THE COLLEGE RECRUITMENT QUESTIONS TO ASK.
Colleges are targeting players at the Freshman age in High Schools so preparation is very important.
Therefore my advice is:
8th Grade- prepare for High School Sports. Fitness, speed of play, awareness, strength and conditioning.
Freshman- as above and now email college soccer coaches asking for information on their respective program.
Sophomore- mail a letter of interest in regards the soccer program and include references from your coaches and dates of games you are playing, just incase the coach wishes to view.
Junior year- send DVD of you both in training and games. Make college visits in January and February.
Senior year- prepare physically and mentally for the demands of college soccer and finally commit to the college of your choice if you have not already done so.
